The voting paper which was inside the centre pages of the May/June British Horse Magazine needs to be returned either by post or electronically to arrive three business days before 18th June. There was a separate sheet headed up Notice of Annual General Meeting enclosed in the magazine. There are two parts of the pull-out - a voting paper for trustees and a proxy form. The proxy form has on it a section that says SPECIAL BUSINESS. This vote is to amend the existing articles of association and one particular clause affects all those interested in Riding Club affairs. ****** Voting to delete Article 15.2 will mean that Riding Clubs will no longer automatically have a reserved place on the Trustees Board. ****** Due to the nature of the way the vote has been arranged it will be necessary to put an X in the against SPECIAL BUSINESS box to prevent this change. ****** Bryony's' View You can judge for yourself from the new candidates' representations how important they feel the riding clubs vote is - only one candidate even mentions riding clubs. I am disturbed that anyone reading the notice of the AGM would not realize that any of the amendments affect Riding Clubs. There was no explanation of the effect of these amendments and the keys words Riding Clubs were not mentioned. When Riding Clubs was considering their options when BD BE PC & BSJA all left the umbrella, many understood that the reserved trustee position was offered as one of the inducements for BRC to stay. Are we all happy to lose it? BRC feels as if it is losing its separate identity and judging from Mr. Prints' comments will be treated as a department of the BHS with no special voice for its 34,000 members. There is some interesting correspondence between our Acting Chairman and Patrick Print BHS Chairman. I am happy to scan & send but I didn't want to make this e-mail difficult to send to those with limits on the size of messages. So if you want to read it just e-mail me and I will reply with it attached. Please vote this is important Briony Chilman 01953 718723 Alt e-mail briony@starsecurity.co.uk ___________________________ Disclaimer Notice ______________________ This message and any attachments are confidential and should only be read by those to whom they are addressed.
