25th November - Area 14 Senior Indoor Show Jumping
Report from Sue Westmore:-
Deben Black
team won the indoor show jumping on the 25th November and qualified for
Hartpury in April. Team was Abi Jacobs on Drakes Drum, Sue
Westmore on Abbey Oaks Burnadebt, Pip Donaldson on Cookie and Jill
Hillyard on A Close Shave. Abi, Pip and Sue all went clear in the
first round, but sadly Crabby went lame and had to withdraw from the 2nd
round so the pressure really piled onto the other team members as all
scores had to count. Luckily, they (and their horses) all rose
brilliantly to the occasion so went through to a 3 way jump off.
Some fast and furious rounds were put in, and although some poles fell
(the fences were really quite big by now), Deben nosed ahead of the
other teams. The Red team completed, but with some penalties in
each round (team was Lorraine Eve on Wildwood Skipper, Jan Alexander on
Murphy, Amelia Walker on Touch the Sky, and me on The Footman).
